Multimedia Client Supports
September 30, 2021Invisible Care – Newsletter for December 2021
December 13, 2021Mr. Smith presented as a jovial, funny family man who reported “performing” regular self-care duties by himself, however relying on his partner for many ADL tasks throughout the day. Mr. Smith did not acknowledge the assistance provided by his wife as a necessary, informal source of support.
He often used humour as a way to keep our Support Staff at a distance and usually tried to deflect any personal questions that came his way. He was open to support but was a hard client to get to open up about the significant challenges he was facing.
Mr. Smith has been using Invisible-Care for nearly a year and over this time he has had a chance to get to know our Support Workers through a combination of regularly scheduled video chats and text messages.
Our skilled team of Support Workers delicately grew the relationship everyday via our proprietary communication software, which developed trust, familiarity, and reliability for Mr. Smith. We provided Mr. Smith with a safe and consistent means of communication and support, and his relationship with his primary Support Worker slowly flourished and the layers began to peel back.
His stories, hardships, pain and sleeping patterns, along with his unexpected life changes that followed his accident, all began to be told. As he opened up about his challenges with chronic pain and leaving the workforce, Invisible-Care was able to support him with positive affirmations, pacing & planning suggestions and pain management strategies. Our Support Workers were able communicate the hardships he was suffering from his accident back to his therapy team, resulting in access to more overall supports.
Our team communicated with Mr. Smith’s team to keep up to date on therapy goals to adjust his prompts as needed and to alert the team. We provide objective and data-driven information back to the team, which they can then use to build their file, support their clients case and know exactly how their client is managing every day.
Mr. Smith has rehabilitation and personal attendant care supports through Invisible-Care.
Receiving multiple communications a day, Mr. Smith has support with appointments and scheduling, medication reminders, assistance with pacing and energy conservation throughout the day, and completing therapy exercises. He engages in text communication and video communication supports with our Support Worker with on-demand access to support in Real Time. This support has provided Mr. Smith with reliability, companionship and a personalized approach during his rehabilitation and recovery journey.
Invisible-Care is more than a simple communication platform – we become an integral part of the team, driving client success. We are a consistent and reliable support to our clients, who depend on our prompts daily to promote their participation and increased success.
